Mika Kaurismäki was a co-founder and the chairman of the board of
(1981-2000, Helsinki) and co-founder and
the managing director of the distribution company
(1986-2001,
Helsinki). He's also a partner of
(est. 1993, Rio
de Janeiro).
Marianna Films Oy is specialised in production of national feature films and in co-productions of European films. It was founded in
1987 in Helsinki by Mika Kaurismäki, who has produced and directed several films for the company and has been the managing
director of the company since the beginning. The company has produced also some debut films and participated in Nordic
co-productions.
